This Stage Plus premade data cable (SP-CABBIA3MXA3FX001S) is a 1 m 110-ohm digital lead with an Amphenol AC3MM 3-pole male XLR at one end and an Amphenol AC3F 3-pole female XLR at the other, assembled by Stage Plus in South Africa on black Sommer Cable Binary 234 cable. It is intended for 3-pin DMX512 lighting control links between consoles, dimmers and fixtures, and for AES/EBU digital audio, where a proper 110-ohm cable gives far more reliable data transmission than ordinary microphone cable. Sommer's Binary 234 has two 0.34 mm² (AWG 22) oxygen-free copper conductors of 19 strands, foam-PE insulation and a 100 % copper spiral shield under a 6.4 mm black PVC jacket with very high UV resistance, rated from -25 to +80 degrees C. The Amphenol AC3MM male has machined contacts and a nickel finish; the AC3F female is black with gold-plated contacts. The 1 m length suits short hops between fixtures on a truss or within a rack. Stage Plus pre-assembles its data cables in-house with professional hardware.
