This Stage Plus premade instrument cable (SP-CABTRACPMACPM002S) is a 2 m unbalanced guitar/instrument lead with an Amphenol ACPM-GN straight 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) mono jack plug at one end and an Amphenol ACPM-GN straight 1/4" mono jack (nickel) at the other, assembled by Stage Plus in South Africa on black Sommer Cable Tricone instrument cable. It is intended for connecting electric guitars, basses, keyboards and other instruments to amplifiers, pedalboards and DI boxes on stage and in rehearsal rooms and studios. Sommer's Tricone MKII cable has a single 0.22 mm² (AWG 24) oxygen-free copper conductor with foam-PE insulation, a copper spiral shield plus a conductive (semiconductor) layer to reduce handling noise, and a 5.9 mm PVC jacket with high UV resistance, rated from -25 to +80 degrees C; Sommer quotes a low 85 pF per metre conductor-to-shield capacitance, which helps preserve high-frequency detail over longer runs. Amphenol's ACPM-GN is a mono phone plug with nickel tip, sleeve and shell. Stage Plus assembles its audio cables in-house with professional hardware.
