This Stage Plus premade instrument cable is a 20 m black lead with an Amphenol TM2P plug on both ends, made up with Tricone instrument cable. The TM2P is Amphenol's 2-pole 6.35 mm (1/4-inch) mono jack plug, the standard connector for electric guitars, basses, keyboards, effects pedals and amplifiers. Instrument cable carries the high-impedance, unbalanced signal from a pickup, so it relies on good shielding and low handling noise to avoid hum and crackle; a dedicated instrument cable such as Tricone is designed for this, and for flexibility when stepped on, coiled and uncoiled every gig. A 20 m length gives a guitarist or bassist freedom to move around a large stage, or to run from a pedalboard to a backline amplifier some distance away. Stage Plus is AV Distribution's South African house brand of locally assembled cables, built to order from branded connectors and bulk cable, so musicians, churches, schools and rental companies can buy ready-made, tested leads in a specific length.
