This is a Stage Plus pre-made microphone cable on a large reel: 100 m of black stage-grade balanced microphone cable, assembled in-house in South Africa by Stage Plus, the staging and flightcase brand distributed by AV Distribution. It is intended for long analogue signal runs at concerts, outdoor events, sports venues and houses of worship, for example from a stage-box or microphone position back to front-of-house, or as a long tie line between buildings. The reel end is fitted with an Amphenol AC3MMDZ, a three-pole male XLR chassis connector with a D-type flange and machined contacts, mounted on the reel so the cable can be plugged in and used directly from the drum without fully unwinding it. The free end is terminated in an Amphenol AC3F three-pole female XLR cable connector. Being standard XLR-3, it carries balanced mic- or line-level audio and phantom power like any mic cable. Stage Plus states that its pre-made audio cable is assembled with professional workmanship and hardware; bulk cable, connectors and reels are also available from them for custom builds.
