This Stage Plus premade patch cable is a 20 m black balanced audio lead with an Amphenol TS3P plug on both ends, made up with Sommer Stage cable. The TS3P is Amphenol's 3-pole 6.35 mm (1/4-inch) stereo/TRS jack plug, so this cable carries a balanced mono line-level signal (or an unbalanced stereo signal) between equipment with 1/4-inch TRS sockets, such as mixing desks, audio interfaces, signal processors, powered speakers, keyboards and DI boxes. Balanced connections reject hum and interference picked up along the cable, which is important on long runs like this 20 m length, for example from a stage to front-of-house or across a studio or church. Sommer Cable's stage-grade cable is designed to be flexible and durable for repeated rolling and unrolling on live gigs. Stage Plus is AV Distribution's South African house brand of locally assembled cables, built to order from branded connectors and bulk cable, so sound engineers, churches, rental companies and installers can buy ready-made, tested leads of a specific length instead of soldering their own. Check that both connected devices use balanced TRS inputs and outputs for the full noise-rejection benefit.
