This Stage Plus premade PC audio cable is a 5 m stereo Y-lead that connects a computer, laptop, phone or tablet headphone output to equipment with RCA (phono) inputs. One end has a HiCon HIC-J35S05 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack plug, and the other end splits into two Amphenol ACPR RCA plugs for the left and right channels. The cable is Sommer Cable's Onyx in black, a stereo audio cable. Typical uses are playing background music or video sound from a laptop into a mixing desk, DJ mixer, amplifier, powered speakers or a hi-fi, for example at presentations, school events, church services and small functions. The 5 m length lets the laptop sit at a lectern or table some distance from the mixer. HiCon and Amphenol connectors are robust, metal-bodied professional connectors with proper strain relief, which is why these leads last longer than consumer adapters. Stage Plus is AV Distribution's South African house brand, with its premade cables assembled locally from branded parts. The signal is unbalanced consumer line level.
