The Stage Plus SA 16A Rubber Double Sided Coupler (SP-CON-SA16AC) is a heavy-duty rubber-bodied connector for South African 16 A mains cables, made by Stage Plus, the South African staging, rigging and power-distribution brand distributed by AV Distribution. It is used by event, stage and installation crews to join or extend power runs built on the standard South African 16 A three-round-pin plug pattern, for example to link two leads that both end in plug tops, or to extend a feed from a power distribution box to lighting, audio or video equipment. A rubber body is preferred over hard plastic for touring and outdoor work because it withstands being dropped, driven over and handled in the cold without cracking. The supplier name describes it as double sided, meaning it presents a socket on both faces; the exact configuration, cable entry and screw terminals are not published, so confirm the layout with the supplier before ordering in quantity. It pairs with the matching Stage Plus SA 16A 3 pin rubber plug top (listed separately) for making up leads. Always have mains connectors fitted by a qualified person.
