This Stage Plus 1U vented rack panel (supplier code SP-RAC-1UP-004) is a black 19-inch rack filler panel that covers one empty rack unit in an equipment rack or rack flightcase. A standard 1U panel is 44.45 mm (1.75 inch) high and fits the 19-inch rack format used for audio, video, lighting-control and network equipment, screwing to the rack rails with the usual rack screws. Filler panels are used to close gaps between devices so the rack looks neat and professional, to keep fingers, cables and debris out of the rack, and to manage airflow: an open gap lets hot exhaust air recirculate to the front of amplifiers and processors. This version has ventilation openings, so it is typically fitted above or below hot-running equipment such as power amplifiers, where it allows air to escape while still covering the space. Installers, rental companies, churches and broadcast facilities keep a stock of blank and vented panels for building and tidying racks. Stage Plus is the South African staging, rack and flight-case brand of AV Distribution. Rack screws are not specified as included.
