This Stage Plus 2U blank panel (supplier code SP-RAC-2UP-003) is a 19-inch rack filler panel that covers two empty rack units in an equipment rack or rack flightcase. A standard 2U panel is 88.9 mm (3.5 inch) high and fits the 19-inch rack format used for audio, video, lighting-control and network equipment, screwing to the rack rails with the usual rack screws. Filler panels are used to close gaps between devices so the rack looks neat and professional, to keep fingers, cables and debris out of the rack, and to manage airflow: an open gap lets hot exhaust air recirculate to the front of amplifiers and processors. This is a solid blank panel with no openings, used where the space should simply be closed off, for example between units in a front-to-back airflow rack or to cover space reserved for future equipment. Installers, rental companies, churches and broadcast facilities keep a stock of blank and vented panels for building and tidying racks. Stage Plus is the South African staging, rack and flight-case brand of AV Distribution. Rack screws are not specified as included.
