This Synology rack-mount NAS is a 2U enclosure with 24 x 2.5" drive bays, driven by an Intel Xeon processor and expandable to up to 192GB of RAM, with support for an add-in GPU card (for hardware transcoding or AI workloads) — though the listing notes it does not support external expansion units, capping total capacity at what fits in its own 24 bays. The 2.5" bay format suits all-flash or high-density SSD deployments rather than bulk 3.5" HDD storage. This class of unit is aimed at businesses running Synology's DSM platform for file services, backup, virtualization storage or surveillance recording at a scale beyond a typical desktop/small-business NAS.
