The Toshiba HDEPZ10GEA51F is the 18TB MG09-series enterprise hard drive (MG09ACA18TE), a 3.5-inch SATA drive for 24/7 servers, NAS arrays and video surveillance storage. MG09 uses Toshiba's helium-sealed, nine-disk design with Flux Control Microwave Assisted Magnetic Recording (FC-MAMR) to reach 2TB per platter while staying a conventional magnetic recording (CMR) drive, which matters for RAID: no SMR slow-downs during rebuilds or sustained writes. It spins at 7,200 rpm with a 512 MiB buffer and a SATA 6Gb/s interface, with a quoted maximum data rate of about 281 MB/s. Toshiba rates the MG Series at 550 TB/year of workload and 2.5 million hours MTTF, roughly ten times what a desktop drive is designed for. A good fit for South African businesses consolidating storage onto fewer, larger drives in a NAS or server. Supplied as a bare drive, no cables or mounting screws.
