This is a 1.0 m section of OV40 square truss (part TFL-OV40-100) from Total Fabrications, the UK truss manufacturer now trading as Total Solutions Group. OV40 is a 400 x 400 mm four-chord 'quad' or box truss designed for lighting rigs, ground-support structures, exhibition stands, video-wall frames and other temporary event structures where a light self-weight still needs to carry a real load. The main chords are 48.3 x 3 mm aluminium tube in EN AW-6082 T6 alloy with special extruded bracing, and sections join with conical couplers secured by TFC pins and R3 clips, so lengths of 0.25 m to 4 m can be combined quickly. This 1 m section measures 1000 x 400 x 400 mm and weighs about 8 kg. Total Solutions quotes a uniformly distributed load of 1,450 kg at a 9 m span for OV40 (see the manufacturer's full load tables for other spans and point loads), and the truss is manufactured to BS EN 1090-3 and designed to BS EN 1999-1-1 and BS EN 17115.
