The Total Fabrications OV40 Sleeve Pickup Beam is a 1,000 kg rated rigging accessory for the 40 cm (400 x 400 mm) OV40 square truss system from Total Solutions Group in the UK. Like the standard truss pickup beam, it provides a defined lifting point so a chain hoist can pick up an OV40 truss run from above and spread the load onto the truss chords, rather than slinging directly around the tubes. It is used by lighting, staging and rigging companies for flown lighting and video rigs and for ground-support or roof systems built from OV40 truss. The OV range itself is designed to the Eurocodes and manufactured to EN 1090 in EN AW-6082 T6 aluminium, with OV40 rated at about 1,450 kg UDL over a 9 m span.
