The TP-Link Tapo L535B is a bright multicolour smart bulb with a B22 bayonet base, the common fitting in South African homes. It puts out 1055 lumens (equivalent to a 75W incandescent) while drawing only 8.6W, and lets you choose from millions of colours or tune white light from warm 2500K to cool daylight 6500K, with dimming, all from the Tapo app. It connects directly to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with no hub needed (Bluetooth is used only during setup), and it is Matter-certified, so it works alongside Apple Home, Google Home and Amazon Alexa, including voice control with Siri, Google Assistant or Alexa. Handy extras include schedules and timers, an away mode that switches lights on and off to make it look like someone is home, and energy monitoring to track power use.
