The TP-Link Tapo L630 is a smart GU10 spotlight that drops straight into the downlight fittings found in most South African kitchens, passages and lounges. Each lamp gives 350 lumens (50W halogen equivalent) from just 3.7W, with 16 million colours plus tunable white from a warm 2200K to cool 6500K, and smooth dimming from the Tapo app or by voice. It connects directly to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, so no hub is needed, and works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for hands-free control. You can group several spotlights to control a whole room at once, set schedules and timers, and switch lights remotely when you're away. The 40° beam suits accent and task lighting, CRI is 80 or higher, and the rated life is 15,000 hours. It runs on 220-240V mains and measures 50 x 55.2 mm. The box contains one spotlight; since smart lamps need constant power, leave the wall switch on and use the app instead.
