The TP-Link UB500 Plus adds Bluetooth 5.3 to a desktop PC or laptop through a USB port. Its adjustable, multi-directional external antenna improves range compared with nano-sized dongles, so a headset, game controller or speaker can stay connected when the PC is under a desk or across the room. Up to seven Bluetooth devices can connect at once, which suits a desk with a wireless keyboard, mouse, headphones and a phone for file transfers. Bluetooth 5.3 brings the reliability and security improvements of the newer standard. TP-Link lists Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 support, with plug-and-play installation on most systems. The adapter uses a USB 2.0 interface and measures 81 x 42 x 16.8 mm with the antenna. It is an affordable fix for South African office and home PCs that shipped without Bluetooth.
