The UniQue CAT5 patch cable is a short, ready-made 1-metre grey Ethernet lead with an RJ45 plug on each end, for the connections that sit right next to each other: router to switch, switch to a patch panel in a cabinet, a PC to a wall port under the desk, or a fibre ONT to the Wi-Fi router. A one-metre length keeps a network cabinet or TV unit tidy without loops of spare cable bunched up behind the equipment. Being pre-terminated, there is no crimping or testing involved - just plug it in. It works with standard 10/100 Ethernet equipment found in homes and small offices, and the grey colour matches most cabinet and office cabling. For gigabit runs between a fast router and a PC, a CAT5e or CAT6 lead is the more future-proof choice; this one suits short everyday links where cost matters most. Supplied in retail packaging; Esquire lists it with no warranty.
