The Verbatim Store 'n' Go Portable SSD 256GB (Verbatim part 53249) is a slim external solid state drive for backing up and carrying files between computers. It connects over USB 3.2 Gen 1 through a USB-C port on the drive, and Verbatim includes a USB-C to USB-A cable, so it works with both newer USB-C laptops and older machines with standard USB-A ports. Because it has no moving parts it is faster, quieter and more resistant to bumps than a portable hard drive, which makes it a good choice for students, travelling staff and photographers who want quick access to documents, photos and project files. It is compatible with Windows and macOS. The drive has a black plastic housing with Verbatim's diamond-pattern finish and measures about 81 x 119 x 7 mm (roughly 2.5-inch drive size) and weighs 98 g, small enough for a laptop bag pocket. Verbatim's retail pack mentions bundled Nero backup software. Formatting to exFAT allows the same drive to be used on both Windows and Mac.
