The Verbatim Store 'n' Go Portable SSD 512GB (part 53250) is a slim external solid state drive for backing up and carrying files between computers. It connects over USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) through a USB-C port on the drive, and Verbatim supplies a USB-C to USB-A cable plus a USB-A to USB-C adapter so it works with both older and newer laptops and PCs. Because it uses flash memory with no moving parts, it is silent, uses little power and copes with everyday knocks better than a portable hard drive, which makes it suitable for photographers, students and office users moving large files, video projects or game libraries. It is compatible with Windows and macOS, and Nero Backup software is included for scheduled backups of files, folders and whole drives. The black plastic housing has Verbatim's textured diamond pattern, measures 81 x 119 x 7 mm and weighs 98 g, so it slips easily into a laptop bag pocket. Real-world speed depends on the host port; on a USB 2.0 port it will run at USB 2.0 speeds.
