The Garmin vivosmart 5 is a slim fitness and sleep tracking band, an updated successor to the vivosmart 4 with a larger screen and simplified navigation. This unit is finished in Mint (EMEA regional edition). It uses a larger OLED touchscreen display (about 0.41 x 0.73", 88 x 154 pixel resolution) built into a silicone band, weighing about 24.5g (26.5g for the Large size), and is rated to 5 ATM water resistance for pool swimming, open-water swimming and showering. Health tracking covers the Elevate wrist heart rate sensor, a Pulse Ox blood oxygen sensor, resting heart rate and abnormal heart rate alerts, respiration rate, Body Battery energy monitoring, all-day stress tracking with relaxation reminders, advanced sleep tracking, hydration tracking, women's health tracking and a Fitness Age estimate. It relies on Connected GPS via a paired phone for outdoor activity distance/pace (there's no onboard GPS chip) and broadcasts heart rate over ANT+, but has no NFC chip and so does not support Garmin Pay. Battery life runs up to 7 days on a charge. This suits buyers who want lightweight, low-maintenance activity and sleep tracking rather than a full GPS sports watch or a watch with contactless payment.
