This is a Vivotek network video recorder (NVR) for CCTV systems, supporting up to 8 camera channels with H.265 compression (which reduces storage and bandwidth needs compared with older H.264 footage at the same quality). It has a single hard drive bay for local recording storage, 8 built-in PoE ports so connected IP cameras can be powered directly through their network cable rather than needing separate power runs, an HDMI output for connecting a monitor to view live/recorded footage, ONVIF support for interoperability with third-party ONVIF-compliant cameras, and an RJ45 network port for LAN/internet connectivity. It suits small business or residential CCTV installations of up to 8 cameras rather than larger multi-dozen-camera commercial sites.
