This is a Vivotek thermal (infrared) bullet-style security camera fitted with a 35mm thermal lens. Unlike a standard visible-light CCTV camera, a thermal camera images heat signatures rather than reflected light, so it can detect people, vehicles, or animals in complete darkness, through smoke, or in poor weather where a normal camera would see nothing useful - the 35mm lens gives it a narrower field of view suited to longer-distance perimeter detection rather than wide close-range coverage. Cameras like this are used for perimeter security on industrial sites, warehouses, farms, and other large properties where early intrusion detection at range, regardless of lighting, matters more than identifying fine visual detail.
