The Yamaha HS5I is a two-way, bi-amplified nearfield studio monitor with a 5-inch cone woofer and a 1-inch dome tweeter, sold as a single unit. It is the installation version of Yamaha's HS5, with mounting points on four surfaces so it can be fixed to walls, ceilings or brackets in studios, post-production suites, broadcast rooms and commercial installations. A 45 W low-frequency plus 25 W high-frequency amplifier (70 W total) drives the bass-reflex MDF cabinet, with a crossover at 2 kHz. Frequency response is 54 Hz to 30 kHz at -10 dB (74 Hz to 24 kHz at -3 dB). Room Control and High Trim switches let the user compensate for the monitor's position in the room and adjust the treble to taste. Inputs are XLR and TRS phone jack, both accepting balanced or unbalanced signals. The monitor measures 170 x 222 x 285 mm and weighs 5.5 kg. An AC power cable and manual are included.
