The Zebra RFD40 Premium Sled is a snap-on RFID reading accessory (a "sled") that attaches to a compatible Zebra handheld computer to add UHF RFID scanning capability without needing a dedicated RFID reader. This configuration uses a standard-range circular polarized antenna (better at reading tags in varying orientations than a linear antenna, at somewhat shorter range) and connects over Bluetooth or WiFi. It's built in a pistol-grip "gun" form factor for comfortable extended scanning, has no built-in barcode imager of its own (it relies on the host device's imager for barcode reads), and includes a large 7000mAh battery to power both itself and extend the host device's runtime through a full shift. Used in retail, logistics and asset-tracking operations doing high-volume RFID tag reads.
