The ZTE MF286C is a 4G LTE router for homes and small offices where fibre is not available, or as a backup line for when fibre goes down. Insert a data SIM from your mobile network and it shares the LTE connection over dual-band Wi-Fi and Ethernet. Retailers list it as LTE Cat6, with download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload of up to 50 Mbps depending on the network, and AC1300-class dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi for up to 64 users. The rear panel has four LAN ports, one of which can act as a WAN port for a fixed-line connection, plus a USB port, two connectors for optional external antennas to improve weak signal, and RJ11 phone ports for VoLTE calls. There is also a housing for an optional backup battery. Setup is through the web page at 192.168.0.1. According to the Webafrica setup guide, the box contains the router, an AC power adapter, a short Ethernet cable and a quick start guide.
